VIDEO PORTFOLIO

Storyteller for Good Stephen Custer loves crafting authentic stories with a dash of humor when it’s the right strategy. Enjoy these video stories!

CONNECTING OUR COMMUNITY ONE APPLE AT A TIME

Stephen was so excited to help Salem Harvest craft this moving story of how their work impacts our community. This video tells the story of two apples: one red and one green. Follow their journey from orchard to lunchbox to see how Salem Harvest feeds hungry families and reduces food waste here in the mid-Willamette Valley.

COMPASS AT CAMP LUTHERWOOD OREGON

Stephen had a fantastic time learning about Compass and making this video for Camp Lutherwood Oregon. Compass helps youth campers whose families were affected by disasters, like the local wildfires, to develop resiliency. They get to have a great time at camp while they process how the fires affected them and make a plan for moving forward.

HOW I SEE IT: SUMMER STAFF STORIES OF SELF-DISCOVERY

The staff members at Camp Lutherwood Oregon are doing amazing work all year round with their campers. Stephen got to sit down with summer staff members to hear some of their most memorable camper stories.

THE COMMUNITY THREAD

“The Community Thread” was a passion project of Storyteller for Good Stephen Custer when he worked at Cherriots, the local transit company. He wrote the story years before he was able to make the video. He wrote, storyboarded, and produced this project, which was shot and edited by the team at Skyline Video Productions. It shows how vital transit is to our community and how it connects us all.

SHARE THE ROAD

Also while working at Cherriots, Stephen teamed up with Skyline Video Productions to create this video titled, “Share the Road.” Stephen co-wrote, produced, and served as puppeteer for our star, Jabber. It won a 2022 first-place AdWheel Award from the American Public Transportation Association!

THE VOICE OF CHERRIOTS

While at Cherriots, Stephen got to know an incredible operations supervisor named Keith Rosentrater. His golden voice announced stops on the bus for decades and become a fixture in our community. It was so fun to hear his story, and the video Stephen made with Skyline Video Productions won a 2021 first-place AdWheel Award from the American Public Transportation Association!
